U.S. Patent in the Field of Leukemia Treatment

In a new scientific achievement, a research team from the College of Science has been granted a U.S. patent in the field of leukemia treatment.

Dr. Ruaa bint Mahdi Al-Rubaie
and Dr. Hind bint Ali Al-Khathami

from the Department of Biological Sciences, specializing in Biochemistry,

on the occasion of obtaining a U.S. patent titled:
“Derivatives of (5-amino pyridine-2-yl)-N-benzyl-ethanedione and their use in treating acute myeloid leukemia” (US12,285,418 B1).

This remarkable achievement reflects the team’s outstanding research efforts, continuous innovation, and the university’s ongoing support, represented by the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research, and Innovation.
