Faculty of Science

The College of Science at the University of Jeddah, established in 2014, is considered one of the leading colleges in education and scientific research. The college offers undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs aimed at preparing qualified graduates for the labor market, while promoting innovation, research partnerships, and quality standards in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.

College Objectives:

1. Achieve high standards in teaching and learning in line with national directions.
2. Develop and introduce academic programs that comply with quality assurance standards and support the university’s vision.
3. Enhance students’ competencies and graduate attributes to meet labor market requirements.
4. Identify talented, creative, and outstanding students and encourage their participation in local and international competitions.
5. Support and promote the participation of faculty members and postgraduate students in innovative research fields aligned with national priorities.
6. Build effective collaborative and research partnerships with the local and international community, professional bodies, and various employment sectors.
7. Develop and diversify self-resources in alignment with the college’s human resources and educational and infrastructural capacities.

n a new scientific achievement, a research team from the College of Science has obtained a U.S. patent in the field of breast cancer treatment. The College of Science family extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Ruaa bint Mahdi Al-Remi and Dr. Hind bint Ali Al-Khathami from the Department of Biological Sciences, specializing in Biochemistry, on the occasion of obtaining a U.S. patent titled: “1,2,3-Triazole Compounds, Their Pharmaceutical Composition, and Method for Treating Breast Cancer” Patent No. (US12,258,321 B1) This remarkable achievement reflects their distinguished research efforts, continuous innovation, and the university’s strong support, represented by the Institutes of Scientific Research and Innovation. We wish them continued success, excellence, and further scientific creativity and accomplishments.

In a new scientific achievement, a research team from the College of Science has been granted a U.S. patent in the field of leukemia treatment. The College of Science family extends its warmest congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Ruaa bint Mahdi Al-Remi and Dr. Hind bint Ali Al-Khathami from the Department of Biological Sciences, specializing in Biochemistry, on the occasion of obtaining a U.S. patent titled: “Derivatives of (5-amino pyridine-2-yl)-N-benzyl-ethanedione and their use in treating acute myeloid leukemia” (US12,285,418 B1). This remarkable achievement reflects the team’s outstanding research efforts, continuous innovation, and the university’s ongoing support, represented by the Vice Presidency for Graduate Studies, Scientific Research, and Innovation.
